#2 Colm Doolan - 'Alcohol Wasn't The Problem, It Was The Solution'

In this episode myself & Colm talk all things DRINK.

The drink culture in Ireland, the 'I am NEVER drinking again' trap, the '3 Pint World', hangxiety, mental health, the importance of talking about struggles, why we drink, blackouts, the 'Cure', our skewed perception of what an 'alcoholic' looks like, tips and advice on getting sober & life on the other side of sobriety.

It’s worth pointing out, I am NOT here to bash on drink and condemn people for it!

I’m just talking about a topic that is close to my heart and has really effected me,

especially over the last few years.

It also seems to be a topic I personally feel a lot of people struggle with, especially in Ireland where there is a HUGE drink culture & everything revolves around the pub & not enough people talk about the negative effects it has on their lives.

It’s also a topic that whenever I put up a post or a blog about how 'the drink' effects people, it gets so much attention and people are constantly reaching out to tell me how much they are struggling so that’s why I decided to get someone on who is better able to give advice in this area.

I am SO excited to have Colm Doolan on to chat to today!

You will find him on Instagram: @colm_doolan

This guy is just an inspiration, I have been following him for quite a while now & he is just an absolute JOY to follow along on his journey!

He also has his own Podcast that I love called the Sober Mess & actually, for selfish reasons, I am BUZZING to get chatting to him because I have actually recently decided to quit the drink & I am actually really looking forward to hearing all about how Colm did it, how he navigated sobriety in a nation where usually the main point of attraction for everyones weekend is the pub and how giving up the drink changed his life!

The goal of this podcast is to help as many people as possible in anyway I can and hopefully give people a bit of a laugh along the way!
